Waves of crystalline emotions
Trickle past her ear.
The afternoons alone
Swiftly disappear.
Whirlwinds of thoughts,
Pressurized ideas
Melt - and explode - together
While a child
Far away
Dies.
Gritted teeth against my restrained anger
Behind my back wishing to find a dagger
Some weapon to pierce your heart of lead
But i realize to me you're already dead
You expect me to conform to what you percieve
Your aging self unable to believe
That its mind is trapped in its own narrow tunnel
I will not lie to you to bring you sanity
The more you deny me the more it boils inside of me
And I am unable to understand.
Educated, so states the paper
Yet child-ish to no end
Not too low to try imitation
Not too high to blame it on me
Bought first as a new toy,
The want of every girl and boy.
It plays music, photos, videos too.
Use Facebook to connect me and you;
World expands to broad from few.
So many things to see and touch;
So many things make it all too much.
Writing on screen poetry,
Mozart to Zeppelin to DMB.
Each piece a little expression of me.
Sharp reflection staring back at me,
keys of ebony and ivory.
Each to doors - potential expression:
Happiness, excitement - longing, depression.
Melodies soothing to the ear,
Subtle harmonies hardly heard.
But in front of the crowd,
Butterflies float in my chest.
My doubts scream loud,
Did I still do my best?
I only know my way up
because gravity pulls me down.
Forces acting upon me
from the Earth moving around.
If I were hung backwards
from my feet.
Would the world give up
and let me free.
Slingshot from our
homely sphere.
I'm glad to be
anywhere but here.
Whizzing past the stars in space,
Ignorant to the human race.
Past the planets school kids learn,
on the ultimate sojourn.
My fingers hit the keys of the thoughts that pound my head
insisting
persisting
Yet the keys are meaningless
Only by association do we gain insight
what do we know about anything
would anything matter
we spend years and millions finding the answers to everything when it's all meaningless
Only by association do we gain insight
actions to words
language to people
seconds to time
but in the end, after we evolve past this era
What is true becomes law
what is false becomes forgotten
but what is done, what is brave
what is heroic becomes history
To be written down in books,
for school kids to memorize and recall at a moments notic
i.
I thought I might go see you today
but then I realized how stupid that would be
because seeing you would not be seeing you at all
it would be meeting someone else
and I didn't want to have to introduce myself again
or deal with the fact that you don't remember me
ii.
Every time I pass by your old city
I get this little spark of happiness
because I assume you go back there every now and then
and feel something other than pissed off at the world
then I get angry because
I wasn't the one who could make you feel that way
iii.
You used to ask me why a lot
Why do you feel like that?
Why don't you just leave and do what you wan
Porcelain doll with tangled hair,
People pass or stop and stare,
Her cotton clothes are ripped and torn,
Her parents regret the day she was born,
Her plastic heart has melted down,
Her stunning smile, a perfect frown,
Her shining future, a blackened road,
Her flowing words, a fucked up code.
Once glowing eyes, now dark and dead,
And voices scream inside her head,
A falling rain of acid tears,
Mirrors reflecting all her fears,
A fire raging through her veins,
Drugs to reduce all her pains,
Her porcelain skin, now scarred and bruised,
Her staggering beauty, now gone and used.
A foreign beauty, now buried alone,
A cryptic place

Pink Plastic Flamingoes
You've snagged me by my wrist
And you're dragging me across the floor
And as much as I kick you and scream that "YOU MADE ME A WHORE!"
I can't get rid of the feeling
That I want just a little bit more.
Now I'm trying to be sane
And I've gotten all my shots
And I've thrown away all my cigarettes and pot
And I've decided 'straight edge' was one way to go
Because a little boy bird told me so
Well he's sung in my ear
'bout 3 weeks now
And you've forgotten the reason you came here or how
But you keep screaming at me and demanding the past
